The Nissan NV2500 HD is a full-size commercial cargo and passenger van produced 2012-2021 for the US market. When the automatic transmission fails (torque converter lock-up shudder, valve body solenoid failure, fluid degradation from commercial duty heat cycling), a verified used replacement is significantly more economical than rebuilt or new units while returning the van to service quickly.
CRITICAL: this product is the automatic transmission for the Nissan NV2500 VAN. It is NOT the NV3500 manual transmission (New Venture Gear) used in Dodge Dakota and Chevy S10 trucks. Different product entirely despite similar numbering.
A verified used NV2500 transmission returns your commercial van to working duty. We bench-inspect every transmission: engagement, lock-up, fluid condition, cooler fittings. V6 (RE5R05A 5-speed) and V8 (RE7R01A 7-speed) variants both available, specify at order.
Built on the F-Alpha platform shared with the Titan pickup, Armada SUV, and Infiniti QX56/QX80, the NV2500 HD competed in the full-size commercial van segment with Ford E-Series/Transit, Chevy Express/GMC Savana, Ram ProMaster, and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter.
The NV1500 (1/2-ton), NV2500 (3/4-ton) and NV3500 HD (1-ton) are all the same Nissan NV full-size van platform with different payload ratings. NOT to be confused with the NV3500 New Venture Gear MANUAL transmission used in Dodge/Chevy light trucks (different product entirely).

Replaced RE7R01A 7-speed on my 2016 NV2500 HD V8 SL passenger van that I use for shuttle service. Lock-up shudder at highway speed got worse over months. Vaz confirmed V8 application means 7-speed (not the V6 5-speed) and shipped a tested unit from a 2017 NV2500 V8 donor with disclosed mileage. Installed at my shop with proper Matic-S fluid. Van is back to shuttle duty. The terminology clarification about NV2500 vs NV3500 manual transmission was useful, I almost ordered the wrong thing on anothe
Bought RE5R05A 5-speed for my 2014 NV2500 V6 cargo van that I use for HVAC contractor service. Vaz confirmed V6 application and shipped from a 2013 NV1500 V6 donor (cross-reference within NV platform). Donor mileage was higher than I hoped for at 145k. One star off because shifts feel slightly slower than my original transmission did, but no slipping or shuddering and the van is back to working duty. Matic-D fluid spec was very clearly communicated.
