About the Mercury Capri AC Vents
The Mercury Capri is a nameplate with a particularly interesting history in the US market. The Mark I Capri sold from 1970 through 1977 was not built in the US at all, it was the European market Ford Capri imported through Lincoln Mercury dealers as Ford’s answer to the Mustang in Europe. The Mark I featured a long hood / short deck pony car profile, was offered with a range of European built inline 4 and V6 engines, and developed a strong enthusiast following on both sides of the Atlantic. A second Mercury Capri (Mark II) launched on the Fox body platform 1979 to 1986 as a Mustang sibling, and a third generation (Mark III) appeared 1991 to 1994 as a Mazda based Australian built convertible. These three Capri generations share only the name. This listing is for the Mark I imported European Capri.

Dashboard AC vents are the air outlet louvers positioned across the front dashboard of your Capri. They route conditioned air from the HVAC ductwork through directional louvers that the driver and passenger can aim at occupants or windows for defrost. Over 50 plus years of sun exposure, the original plastic vent louvers commonly crack, fade, lose their directional control, or break entirely, particularly the small pivot vanes that the user adjusts. Our used Mercury Capri AC vent set is constructed from UV resistant ABS plastic in a matte or textured factory style finish, with multi directional adjustable louvers that pivot smoothly for airflow control. The direct clip on mounting design installs without specialized tools, simply snap the vent into the existing dashboard cutout. Note: the ‘UV resistant ABS plastic’ specification is unusual phrasing for a true 1970 era part, so this unit may be from a later production run or a quality aftermarket reproduction sourced for classic restoration.
