Description

Chevy Spark Fuel Gauge / Fuel Level Sender for Sale, Restore Accurate Dashboard Fuel Reading

When your Chevrolet Spark dashboard fuel gauge starts reading erratically (showing full when tank is actually low, empty when full, bouncing readings, or stuck), the cause is almost always the in-tank fuel level sender, not the dashboard gauge itself. The sender’s float arm and variable resistor are subject to wear, fuel varnish buildup, and electrical contact deterioration over time.

A verified used Chevy Spark fuel level sender restores accurate dashboard fuel reading. We test every sender: float arm free movement, variable resistor continuity across full sweep, fuel pump module integration where applicable, wiring connector cleanliness. Generation-specific (1st gen M300 or 2nd gen M400) verification before shipping.

Get your Spark back to accurate fuel gauge reading today.

About the Chevy Spark Platform

GM Korea Manufactured Subcompact (2013-2022 US Sales)

The Chevrolet Spark is a subcompact city car manufactured by GM Korea (formerly Daewoo Motors) and sold in the US 2013-2022. The 5-door hatchback was the sole US body style. Internationally sold as Holden Barina Spark (Australia), Daewoo Matiz (Korea), and Chevrolet Beat (some markets). Discontinued after 2022 as part of GM’s exit from subcompacts.

1st Generation M300 (2013-2015)

Engine: 1.2L Ecotec I4 (84 HP)

Transmission: 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic

Trims: LS, 1LT, 2LT

2nd Generation M400 (2016-2022)

Engine: 1.4L LV7 I4 (98 HP)

Transmission: 5-speed manual or CVT (continuously variable)

Trims: LS, 1LT, 2LT, Activ (crossover-style)

Signs Your Spark Fuel Sender Needs Replacement

Dashboard fuel gauge reads full when tank is actually low (most concerning)

Dashboard reads empty when tank is full

Gauge bounces between readings randomly

Gauge stuck at one position regardless of fuel level

Low-fuel warning light behavior abnormal

Recent fill-ups not registering as full on gauge

Gauge worked normally then suddenly became inaccurate

2 reviews for CHEVY SPARK FUEL GAUGE / FUEL LEVEL SENDER FOR SALE

  1. Vincent Caruso

My 2017 Spark Activ (2nd gen M400) had a fuel gauge that read full when the tank was nearly empty, very dangerous for daily driving. Vaz confirmed M400 generation and supplied a tested sender with continuity verified. Installed myself through the rear cargo hatch in about 3 hours. Gauge now reads accurately. Saved significant cost vs dealer pricing for a small economical city car. The Spark discontinuation context was disclosed which is useful for future planning.

  2. Adaeze Nwosu

Replaced fuel sender on my 2014 Spark 1LT (1st gen M300). Vaz tested the sender on the bench and ohm values were verified. Donor was a 2015 M300. One star off because the sender is integrated into the fuel pump module on my application and Vaz did clarify this but it took me longer than expected to source the right adapter. Otherwise everything works correctly. The Spark is back to normal.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Spark dashboard fuel gauge reads inaccurately. Is the gauge broken or the sender?

Almost always the sender (this part). The dashboard gauge needle/display very rarely fails on its own. The cluster is electronics-driven and typically reliable. The in-tank sender is the mechanical part with a float arm and resistor that wears, gets stuck on varnish, or develops electrical contact issues. When the dashboard gauge reads erratically, replace the sender first.

How is the sender integrated on the Spark?

On both Spark generations, the fuel level sender is typically integrated into the fuel pump module assembly inside the fuel tank. Access is through a hatch in the rear cargo area floor (most common) or under the rear seat (some configurations). The complete fuel pump module assembly needs to come out to access or replace the sender. Some applications allow sender replacement separately from the pump, others require complete module replacement.

Will a 1st gen Spark sender work on my 2nd gen Spark?

No typically. The 1st gen M300 (2013-2015) and 2nd gen M400 (2016-2022) use different fuel pump module configurations with different sender specifications. Use generation-specific senders. Specify your year and we will source correct generation.

I have a Holden Barina Spark from Australia (imported). Will US Spark senders fit?

Typically yes since the vehicles are the same platform built at the same factory. The Holden Barina Spark, Daewoo Matiz, and Chevrolet Beat are the same vehicle as the US Chevy Spark with different badges for different markets. Senders generally cross-reference. Specify your specific market vehicle for verification.

How do I replace the fuel sender?

Installation overview: (1) Run fuel level down to nearly empty before starting (less fuel to deal with). (2) Disconnect battery negative. (3) Relieve fuel system pressure (Schrader valve or remove fuel pump fuse and run engine until it dies). (4) Access fuel pump module hatch in cargo area floor or under rear seat. (5) Disconnect electrical connector and fuel lines from fuel pump module. (6) Remove retainer ring or bolts holding module in tank. (7) Carefully lift module out of tank (mind the float arm). (8) Replace sender component or full module per your service approach. (9) Install in reverse order. (10) Reconnect battery, prime fuel system, verify gauge operation. 2-4 hours typical.

Are bulbs included for the dashboard gauge?

This listing is for the in-tank fuel level sender, not the dashboard gauge cluster. If you need the dashboard cluster gauge (very rare failure), that is a different component, contact us for cluster availability.

My Spark is a 2022 (last year of production). Are parts still available?

GM dealer parts availability is currently good but may decline over time since the Spark was discontinued after 2022. Used and aftermarket parts will become increasingly important for the Spark owner base. Vaz Auto Solutions plans to maintain Spark parts inventory through the platform’s lifetime.

How does shipping work?

Free shipping to all 50 US states. Sender weighs 1-2 lbs in a padded box. UPS or FedEx Ground. Typical transit 3-7 business days. Connector capped to prevent debris ingress.

Product Warranty

15 Day Replacement Warranty. Covered: defects at delivery (float arm sticking on bench test, variable resistor failure at continuity test, broken float not disclosed). Not covered: damage from improper installation, damage from contaminated fuel system (always inspect tank for debris before install), normal wear-related sender drift after install, labor costs, fuel pump-related issues (separate component). Note: this listing is for the fuel level sender, not the dashboard gauge cluster. If dashboard cluster needle is the actual problem, different component. Contact (240) 301-0095 within 15 days.
