About the Dodge Aspen Interior Trim Panel Quarter

The Dodge Aspen has a dedicated classic Mopar enthusiast following despite its troubled production history. Restoration projects on these 45+ year old F-body cars require careful sourcing of interior trim components since original panels typically show significant age-related issues: cracked vinyl, faded color, water stains from window leaks, substrate warping from moisture absorption. Reproduction parts are limited in availability and color matching.

A verified used Aspen interior quarter trim panel provides authentic OEM Mopar appearance for your restoration. We inspect every panel: vinyl integrity, color uniformity, mounting hole condition, substrate integrity, and restoration suitability. Donor Aspen year, body style, and color disclosed before shipping.

About the Dodge Aspen F-Body Platform

The Replacement for the Valiant/Dart (1976-1980)

The Aspen replaced the long-running Valiant/Dart compact platform in 1976 as Chrysler’s new F-body compact. Sister vehicle was the Plymouth Volaré on the same platform with badge engineering differences. The two were nearly identical mechanically.

  1. Walter Brennan III

Restoring my late father’s 1978 Aspen R/T (360 V8, Burgundy interior). Original passenger quarter panel had water staining and vinyl cracking from decades in storage. Vaz found a matched Burgundy panel from a 1979 Aspen coupe donor with vinyl in much better condition. Installed cleanly with original screws. Brings back childhood memories of riding in this car. Excellent service for niche classic Mopar restoration.

  2. Sandra Whitcomb

Picked up a tan quarter panel for my 1980 Aspen wagon. Vaz cross-referenced from a Plymouth Volaré donor which surprised me but they explained the F-body platform sharing. Color match is close. One star off because vinyl has more age cracking than the photos suggested but I am planning to recover at my upholstery shop anyway. Substrate is good, mounting holes intact, foundation for restoration is solid. Good service for hard-to-find classic part.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Aspen is a 4-door sedan, not a coupe. Will this panel fit?

Different body styles use different quarter panels because the rear quarter area is different size and shape between coupe, sedan, and wagon. The coupe has the LARGEST and most visible rear quarter interior area. The sedan has a smaller area since the rear door takes more of the quarter zone. The wagon has additional quarter trim due to the longer interior. We have stock for all three body styles, specify yours at order. This listing covers all three.

I have a Plymouth Volaré. Can I use this Aspen panel?

Yes typically. The Volaré and Aspen share the F-body platform from 1976-1980 and use the same or very similar interior trim panels. Quarter trim panels can often be cross-referenced between the two brands of the same year and body style. Very early 1976 production may have minor differences but most years are interchangeable. We can search both Aspen and Volaré donor stock for your need.

My Aspen interior is Burgundy/Red. Can you find a matching panel?

Burgundy/Red was a common 1970s Mopar interior color and we typically have matched stock available. Other common colors (Tan/Beige, Black, Blue, Green) also have decent availability. Less common color packages may take search time. Call (240) 301-0095 with your specific color and we will check current stock. If exact match not available, we can ship in any color for recover project at upholstery shop ($50-150 per panel typical).

My Aspen has water stains on the existing quarter panel. Should I replace?

Yes typically. Water staining indicates moisture absorption into the cardboard substrate, which usually means: (1) underlying body sheet metal may be rusted (inspect carefully), (2) cardboard substrate is warped beyond cosmetic repair, (3) vinyl is permanently discolored. Replacement is the more reliable fix. Also address the underlying water leak (window seal, body seam, vent) before installing replacement panel.

How do I install the quarter trim panel?

Installation overview: (1) Carefully remove the existing panel by removing visible screws and finishing trim. Watch for hidden retainer clips at edges. (2) Inspect underlying body sheet metal for rust and address as needed. (3) Transfer any wiring, retainer clips, or hardware from old panel. (4) Position new panel in place. (5) Reinstall finishing trim and screws. (6) Verify alignment with adjacent interior trim. 30-60 minutes per panel typical. Service manual recommended if you have one.

Can I recover the panel with new vinyl instead of buying matched color?

Yes, very common restoration approach. Upholstery shops can recover existing or any-color donor panel with new vinyl in correct color. Typical cost $50-150 per panel at upholstery shop. This approach gives you fresh vinyl appearance with correct color regardless of original donor color. Many restoration projects use this technique to standardize all interior trim to one fresh appearance.

How rare are these parts?

Aspen interior trim panels are relatively rare compared to mainstream classic Mopar parts. Reproductions are limited and color matching is hit-or-miss. Used original donor parts come from increasingly scarce supply as classic Aspens get rarer. We do our best to maintain inventory but specific color/year combinations may require search time. Recommend ordering when you have time to wait if specific color match is critical.

How does shipping work?

Free shipping to all 50 US states. Quarter panel weighs 2-5 lbs and ships in a medium box. UPS or FedEx Ground. Typical transit 5-10 business days. Wrapped to prevent transit damage.
