The 2011 to 2017 Juke (the F15 generation, with the 1.6L turbo engine) offered Nissan's All-Mode 4x4-i AWD with torque vectoring, and this rear differential assembly is its working heart. Unlike a passive diff, it integrates electric actuators, temperature and speed sensors, and a wiring harness so the AWD control module can adjust drive in real time: more rear torque on a slippery launch, more outside-rear torque through a corner, and quiet, economical front drive when nothing is asked of it. The assembly ships as removed from the donor with its sensors and connectors in place.
The common triggers are an AWD warning light with rear coupling or actuator codes, clunking or binding from the rear on tight turns, whining that rises with speed, fluid leaks from the housing, and a system that has defaulted to front drive only. Because the unit packages gears, clutches, and electronics together, a verified used assembly is the practical repair; internal rebuilds of these units are effectively unavailable.
