About the Lincoln Nautilus Engine Control Module (ECM)
The ECM is the Nautilus’s engine brain: it reads dozens of sensors and commands fuel injection, ignition timing, turbo boost, idle speed, and emissions controls many times per second, and it reports everything through the OBD-II port your scan tool plugs into. This module lives in a sealed aluminum enclosure with vibration insulation, connects through the multi-pin factory harness, and supports full OBD-II diagnostics. A failed module does not negotiate; it strands the vehicle, which is why the match-and-program steps below matter more than on any body part.
