This is the VQ35HR, the High Revolution version of Nissan's 3.5-liter V6, used in the later 350Z (2007 to 2008). It builds on the VQ family with a stronger 60-degree aluminum block and aluminum heads, DOHC valvetrain with continuously variable timing on the intake (CVTC) and electronic timing on the exhaust (e-VTC), a higher 7,500 rpm redline, and refined internals for stable high-rpm running. Coil-on-plug ignition through the Nissan Direct Ignition System supports clean, efficient combustion, and the result is an engine with strong mid-range torque and an eager top end.
