I recently had this Lexus GS450h transmission installed in my 2007 model. Overall, I’m happy with the performance so far—it has restored the hybrid system’s smooth driving characteristics and quiet operation. The car now accelerates more evenly, and I’m seeing slight improvements in fuel economy too.
The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the install took a bit longer than expected. My mechanic noted that one of the cooling line ports needed a new gasket (which wasn’t included), and we had to reset the hybrid ECU to sync it properly. These aren’t dealbreakers, but if you’re doing a DIY or going to a shop unfamiliar with hybrids, factor in a bit of extra prep.
That said, now that it’s installed and calibrated, it works beautifully. Regenerative braking is smooth, and there’s no transmission-related lag at all. It definitely brought the car back to life.

I replaced the original eCVT in my 2008 Lexus GS450h with this unit, and the results have been excellent. From the moment it was installed, the difference in smoothness and response was immediate. Shifts (or rather transitions) feel buttery smooth, and regenerative braking has been performing as expected with zero noise or shudder. After 1,500 miles, it’s still whisper-quiet and performing like new.
